Action is always the antidote.

We are meeting at the historical site of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, aka the famous case that began the fall of segregation within schools. The reasoning for this decision was the violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

Right now we are fighting for our rights as the administration threatens our communities, but we encourage folks to use their rage and anger for good

This is a peaceful protest.

Here are some staples that most food pantries are need of: Pasta, Rice, Peanut Butter, Canned Fruit, High-Protein Canned Food, Cereal, Beans, and Tomato Paste

Many families would also benefit from: Jugs/Bottled Water, Oatmeal/Dry Grains, Nuts, Canned Soup, Cooking Oils, Dried Fruits, Canned Fish, Canned Chicken, and other non-perishable or shelf stable foods

Don’t forget the snacks! Many families needing mutual aid have children, and being able to have the privilege of snacky foods could make their day much brighter!

All donations are going to Topeka UNIDOS, a group focused on immigration news, resources, and community updates.

It is important for us to come together in solidarity, to share what we can to those who need it. Not only spreading vital resources, but spreading smiles and love.

Love and kindness are not the only reasons to use mutual aid as part of your resistance. The communities we are supporting are some of the most oppressed groups in the country under Trump’s administration.

Making sure they (our neighbors and families) survive everything this government throws at us is direct protest – an action against systemic poverty and the silencing of targeted groups.
